A Slice of Europe in Old World Village Huntington Beach

Old World Huntington Beach | Huntington Beach Days

While wishing summer farewell might be tough, Huntington Beach always has something for every season. When the temp hits the 60’s and us SoCal folks think it’s too chilly for beach days we may find ourselves yearning for a quick trip away. But don’t go booking a flight to Europe just yet because there’s a slice of the old country right here in Huntington Beach.

Welcome to Old World Village.

Right off of the 405 Freeway by Bella Terra, Huntington’s Old World Village is designed to transport you to Europe, complete with cobblestone streets, cottages, and buildings that truly capture that Bavarian feel.

The village hosts a multitude of independent shops and artisans – from bakeries to tea rooms to art galleries – so there’s plenty to explore and excite the senses. German visitors have even praised the authenticity of the food, butchery, and beer selection, so you know you’re getting an authentic experience.

Each October, they host their own Oktoberfest, with traditional German bands straight from the homeland, as well as Dachshund races and (of course) a massive selection of German beers. You’ll be experiencing the full smorgasburg of the traditional festival without having to board a plane or learn any Deutsche.

Besides Oktoberfest, the village has events and live music throughout the year. Visit their Arts and Crafts Marketplace, hosted on select Sundays from September to December, support local artists, and stalk up on unique Christmas gifts.

Alongside their Dachshund races, they also host a pet expo with vendors selling a variety of pet products, as well as providing a space for visitors to meet and potentially adopt pets.

If you’re looking for a holiday activity for the family, check out their Christmas Market, where you can find holiday gifts and decorations, eat cozy foods, and listen to live music performed by Curtis Hoffman. Their festival lineup is home to many fun live music events – from an ’80s-themed New Year’s bash to a Veterans Day celebration with Redneck Rodeo.

Whether you’re connecting with your cultural roots, wanting to experience something new, or just want to have a good time, Old World Village is a great way to have fun with friends or family.

So put on your lederhosen and dirndls, grab a beer and their famous soft pretzels, and truly immerse yourself in the Old World.
